General Terms and Conditions of English Language Lessons

These terms govern the participation of students in English language lessons and are binding for all students who enrol in the course. By enrolling in the course via Google Classroom, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the following terms and conditions.

1. Course Commitment and Duration

• Courses are monthly and binding for the entire duration.
• All lessons included in the monthly package must be completed within the given period (1 month / 4 weeks). Unused lessons cannot be transferred to the following month.
• It is not possible to withdraw from the course during its duration, except for one-time consultation lessons.
• Without written cancellation (e.g., via email or message), the course is automatically extended for the following month.
• Cancellation is possible no later than halfway through the ongoing course (approximately 4 lessons before the end of the last lesson of the current month).

2. Scheduling and Attendance

• Lessons are scheduled during the last week of the month for the following month.
• At the student's request, lessons can be scheduled for shorter time periods within the month; however, availability of selected dates cannot be guaranteed.
• Each lesson lasts 60 minutes.
• If a student arrives late, the teacher will wait a maximum of 15 minutes. After that, the lesson is considered forfeited without replacement.
• If the student arrives late, the lesson ends at the standard time.
  

3. Cancellations and Make-up Lessons

• If the student cannot attend a lesson, they must inform the teacher at least 24 hours in advance.
• In this case, the teacher will offer one or two alternative time slots within the same week, depending on availability. The student is required to choose from the offered options.
• If the student does not select any of the offered alternative time slots, the lesson will be provided in an asynchronous format (e.g., uploaded materials or recorded content).
• If the student cancels a lesson on time more than once within the same month, no alternative time slots will be offered for additional cancellations. In such cases, the lesson will be provided only in an asynchronous format.
• If the student cancels his lessons constantly and repeatedly, the teacher can decide to withdraw the extra free class from the package (for 8+1 packages).
• Exceptions to the above rule apply only to planned holidays or planned work-related travel, provided that the student informs the teacher in advance.
• If the student fails to attend the lesson without prior notice or cancels less than 24 hours in advance, the lesson is forfeited with no right to a replacement or refund.
• Exceptions are made only in cases of serious medical conditions (the medical proof required).
• If the teacher is ill, the lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed time.

4. Payments

• Course fees are paid via bank transfer unless otherwise agreed.
• Payment is due during the first week of the new monthly course.
• If payment is not made on time without explanation, lessons may not begin.
• After the start of the monthly course, no refund will be issued, even if the student decides to cancel the course early.
• Course fees for unused lessons are non-refundable.

5. Lessons

• Lessons are provided either online or in person, as agreed.
• For students under 18, written consent from a legal guardian is required for these terms.
• The legal guardian is also responsible for timely payment and communication.
• In the case of online lessons, the student is responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection and functioning audio/video equipment.
• The teacher is not responsible for missed lessons due to technical problems on the student's side.
• After the end of cooperation, the student will lose access to Google Classroom.

6. Materials and Intellectual Property

• All materials provided via Google Classroom are exclusively for personal use within the context of lessons.
• These materials are protected by copyright law (Act No. 121/2000 Coll.) and constitute the intellectual property of the teacher.
• It is strictly forbidden to distribute, copy, share, or use these materials for any purpose other than personal study.
  
  

7. Communication Outside of Lessons

• Students may contact the teacher at any time via message or email with questions related to the lessons.
• The teacher will respond based on availability, usually within 24 hours.
• This communication is part of the course and is not charged separately.

8. Termination of Cooperation by the Teacher

• The teacher reserves the right to terminate cooperation with a student in justified cases, especially in cases of repeated violations of the terms (e.g., non-payment, repeated unexcused absences, inappropriate behaviour).
• The student will be notified of the termination in writing.
• If lessons have been paid for but not delivered due to the violation of terms by the student, the student will not receive a pro-rata refund.

9. Privacy and GDPR

• All personal data of students is kept confidential and used solely for teaching purposes (lesson planning, invoicing, contacting the student).
• Personal data will not be shared with third parties.
• The student has the right to access their data and may request correction or deletion of their data.

10. Changes to Terms

• The teacher reserves the right to update these terms. The student will be informed of any changes in writing, at least 14 days in advance.
